They are peaceful with other fish though, it will completely ignore my Danios, loaches, and denison barbs. Cautious of my bichirs but won't aggressively attack them unless they nip at him.

Wish they were cheaper..

Lucky you, my two were evil. They destroyed a shoal of beautiful big platinum tiger barbs and when I moved them to their own tank, one turned on the other and shredded it. I ended up rehoming them.

Cichlids seem to have individual personalities, hard to predict their behavior from the store etc.
May be luck haha.

Mine is turning out to be a great pet, very interactive I would say, for a fish.
