Can a blue acara and a con breed?
I moved my female con in with my acara and bp, and for the last 3 days she has been trying to court the acara, who is also staring to show interest in her and has spent the last day digging a pit and calming a cave, driving the bp (3 times his size) out of the new territory and flirting with the con.
Any one ever have this mix? and if so any pics of what the offspring look like?
Also at what size can an Acara breed? Mines only like 2.5 - 3 inch.

NO they cant the only thing you can breed acaras to other kinds of acara and green terror

that says it all. if it goes to a green terror why not a convict also? just bc noones done it dosn't mean it can't be done!! convicts are whores and will go with jus about any cichlid that can go into a hybrid cocktail

Well I have my answer, NO. The Acara is just smart, he paired with the con and defended the territory so he could kick her out when she was done laying the eggs and have an easy free meal.

I kind of wanted to see what the cross would look like but oh well.
