Blue acara ?

I've see eba colour up quite small I've had success in the past with p.scalare, convict, sajica, kribensis etc but this will be my first cichlid pairing since getting back into the hobby and a good excuse for another tank ( I've just cut down from 3 tanks to 1 in the living room to keep the wife happy)
 
I have a spawning pair of EBA and their offspring has shown the Electric blue color very small like 1/2 inch or there abouts some maybe a little sooner.
So I believe you will be able to tell pretty fast which ones are Electric.

Yes, I had a batch of EBA, and they were 100% true. Unfortunately, after about a month and reaching 1/2 inch, they all died off except one. About half of the EBA I acquired dropped dead mysteriously, so they have weak genes. My breeding pair is still alive and hope for better luck next time

ok, but you guys have BOTH Electric Blue parents....he only has ONE Electric Blue, the other is normal wild-type Blue Acara
 
Correct. The fry stay true when both parents are the same. I dont know what will happen if a normal blue acara spawns with an EBA. My pair are both EBA's.
