Hey every1 first time post on mfk,

i hav a 4.5 inch blue acara, just wonderin when its fully grown will i be able to give it feeders because it seems to hav a really small mouth at the moment.

Thanx from nick_flano22

I'm fairly sure at 4.5inches, you could give it feeders now. Puffers have small mouths, and by 4.5inches, they're eating fish half their size with no problem. I'd just go for it, it should be fine.

how the heck did you manage to bag a blue acara?! every time i've looked i end up finding green terrors!
infact i have a mated pair now.. d'oh!

do you get many blue acaras in aus? because over here in the uk we end up with rivulatus labelled as blue acaras... such a pain!

My full grown Blue Acara won't touch feeders at all. She's like a dog chasing a car, once she catches it she doesn't know what to do.

I bought a young acara purley out of sympathy which was in a tank getting beaten up by some Jags at 2inch about 18 months ago, and now it's only about 4inch and very, very dull it lives in a 6 footer with lots of geophagus, metynnis and myleus and oscars. It does look a little like my Port acara but it doesn't have the same sort of colouration.
