My lfs always had the green fins jardini with no flowery patters(3"-4").
Recently, Chinatown aquariums have imported a bunch of jardinis slightly longer, about 5"-6", with dark blue anal fins and flowery/pattern, could anybody tell me weather its painted or a different variety?

From google images, just to give an example:

Blue, ones from Chinatown mott street have much nicer fins and pattern.

First pic shows a juvenile jardini which will soon change color to an adult jaradini which is shown on in the second pic. When they get up to 6" it's when the color starts to change. It's not painted or variety but just juvenile form and color change to becoming an adult.

nope. i think their is no distinctive color variation between those and a regular jardini. at younger age they look goldenish pale. and then as mature their fin colors darkens. and the intensity of the color varies on how healthy it is too.

if you said a red jardini then haha that is a bit different

The second picture is interesting, does the Jars from Mott street in Chinatown have the exact same Jar as the one in your second picture? If you have time, go down to the store and take some pictures and post them.

im currently have 3 of them, 2 are like the first pic, third one look like the second pic. they are like that when i got them small. now they are 6-7 and still one dark and two a light. the darker ones looks nicer, the dots are more pink/orange in constast to dark body. the other two are just plain and pale/gold.

a red jardini is just a jardini not asian, however mulberry and elizabeth st also sells these arowanas. Win Tropical on Mott which i assume your talking bout was the last to import these batches, also mulberry and elizabeth has the same supplier but to save money mulberry has the cheapest fish with greater or equal quality
