Ok thank you! How long would it be able to live in a 150g tank with a 55g sump and 2 hob filters and a fluidized sand bed filter

What are the dimensions of your 150g tank? Babies blacks and smaller juvies tend to have a growth rate of an 1" a month if they are good eaters(they are not piggish like silver aros). So figure in a year it'll be about 16", 18" is gonna be about max for a 150g with the proper dimensions. In 18 months it'll be nearing 24" and definetly too big for a 150g.

Larger wild caught blacks(10-12") generally don't take to eating as well. Most see much slower growth rates with them and may actually last longer in a 150g tank. But don't count on this, better have plans for upgrading to a proper tank within 12-15 months from now.

That price is really cheap considering it's at a LFS. Also at that size they generally aren't referred to as blue arowana. Most advertised blue arowana are 8-12" as this is when a black arowana tend to show alot of blue. Are you sure it is a black/blue arowana and not a dyed silver aro?

its not dyed. it was labeled as blue arowana i will upload a pic when i get home. 4-5inches. i think it wasnt dyed because it was a pale blue color not the usually bright blue that dyed fish are.

Yeah id get that in a heartbeat for $50! Theyre usually atleast 2x-3x that amount at 5 inches
