i have a black and love it but i have a dark metallic blue on my 30 gallon and it looks amazing. so i would go either way. but the light blue doesn't look very good. it also has to kinda incorperate into your decor and gravel, like with my black background i have tan rocks with dark driftwood were as my blue background has blue gravel and more greenish plants.

I have seen tanks with one way glass... And it looks awsome.. I thought it was a black background..at first..untill i went around the tank and noticed it was one way...

I plan on getting a tank like that in a few months...

I have a peice of MDF that can slide behind my tanks with dark blue and jet black painted on both sides. When I grow tired of one colour, I simply switch it.

I prefer black and blue shows up poorly in photographs. Particulary in whole tank shots.

depends if you are building an 8x8x2 square aquarium that would be the center of the room then you wouldnt want any background
