Your flameback is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!

Your blue bar looks great....not too worse for wear huh? Doesn't look like your Kyoga tore him up too bad?

Nice to see someone else keeping Victorians!!!!!

thank you... flameback is awesome looking i'll try to get some even better pictures ... without the flash his reds are incredibly deep.. i'll be sure to post some blue bar pics when he colors up.. right now he's kinda blah but i've seen their potential so i'm excited... i have some Paralabidochromis chromogynos as well

so far the blue bar is fighting back if the kyoga tries to get mean otherwise kyoga just chases him away to a cave when he gets too close haha

what i do notice is that the blue bar is incredibly aggressive when its feeding time... he really bullies all the smaller fish away from falling pellets

Yep, it's tough to get nice shots.....finally figured out the "portrait" setting on my digital but you automatically get a flash with that setting. Haven't had the time to figure if I can disable the flash with that setting.

I have ordered some Ruti Is. boys and one Burtoni....all males, should get them in the middle of the week.

Also looking for a some RG girls as I think I would like to have a colony for my 40G or maybe even the 75G.

Completely broke down my 15G QT tank this am....which I run a UGF with. Surprised that there was very little if any gunk under the plates. Nitrates levels now @ 5ppm. I'm all ready for the new arrivals.

Love to see more pics of your fish.

the flamebook is still dominant....as of now the blue bar is definately scared of my kyoga even though he was originally trying to be the tough guy... when the kyoga doesnt notice and the blue bar ventures out he picks on the little guys though lol... its a vicious cycle hopefully it isnt a deadly one

ive been keeping a colony of blue bars for about a yr and a half now, and in my experience there the meanest vic ive come across so far, my dom blue bar male is huge too, far bigger then any of my kyoga males, full grown, definitly gonna wanna keep an eye on them, vics can be pretty fragile sometimes

How about posting a picture of that dom male, I would love to see him!

I kept a few of them yrs ago....none of them nearly as aggressive as the sp.44 I have kept.

I have thought about a all male Vic Tank. I have been told they won't work.
Do you have all males? I have a male mbuna tank it could not be much worse. They are all crazy. Mostly the male Kenyi.
Your thought please, What size tank I could use and how many fish.. ie: 55 how many. 75 how many. Thanks so much..

i think an all male vic tank would work fine, and look awesome, a 55 would be fine, a 75 would be even better, just dont have more then 1 of any type and i think you will be fine, would love to see some pics when your done if you do decide to do so

They do work, the 3 main tanks I have are all male only Vic tanks...with a few few other fish from the other lakes.

It can be done in a 55 but I concur with Mahema, 75 long or even 100 would probably be better. I keep multible males of the same species without any real problem. I currently have 6 different species of Vics in my 125g. Between my 75 long and 125, I sometimes have to platoon over aggressive males. I just reintroduce the fish back in a couple of days.
Currently in my 75, the dominant male is a PN and he's pretty benevolent and doesn't take too much territory. This can be a problem with a dominant male in the tank, they take too much territory and your other Vics won't display their colors.

Keep sp. 44's to themselves.
