Blue Bonded Filter pad

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cool, thanks for the tip! I will try it out when this next one get filthy.

God. This is gonna prove I have no life. I wondered the same thing several years back. So, I took a new pad and an used but rinsed out pad and compared them under a dissection microscope. I found that even though the used pad's fibers were clean the fibers were flatter and the weave was tighter than the new pad's. As the pad's fibers and weave lose resiliency, they lay closer together and cause more of a blockage against water flow.

That does make sense. Now being serious here, would the bounce back per say if you did put it in the dryer? Just like most things in the in the dry they come out more fluffy. LOL, I dont know just a thought.

Well I guess when this next pad gets dirty I will just have to try it out the old fashioned way and throw it in the washer, then dryer, then see how well it works.

Use low heat or it could melt (don't ask, I have less of a life than Oddball).

OHHHHHHH, so your telling me that the filter material is not a tuff as jeans? LOL

I buy all my filter sleaved off of a guy on ebay they are not as highquality as the store bought ones but for the price its worth changing them every two months I just use the sprayer handle on my sink to clean the heck out of them...after the second rinse they strecth out alittle so I use rubberbands to keep them on tight

Let's put it this way...would you wear pants made out of it? :screwy: :D

You can also buy it from heating/air conditioning suppliers by the roll.

Boy we're inventive (read 'cheap' ).

I've quit using filter pads in my wet-drys that I have to clean. I now use 100 micron polypropylene felt bags on my drains from www.filterbag.com. At $2.46 each in a case of 50, I consider them disposable. Work great, and one less item to clean. :D In a pinch, you can also give these the washing machine treatment.
