Hi all i may be picking up 15 female convicts, that are slight blue (no pics yet)

will these convicts be as easy to breed / keep as the normal black and white ones as i have about 4 or 5 males atm

Convict is convicts, they will breed in any size of any water. Ive seen a pair bred in 1gal hexagon tank and 5gal tanks too. The only one problem is how to stop them from breeding.

yeah convicts breed like wildfire. that was the first cichlid i bred. very easy.

doesnt matter if they blues, they have the sam behvior and breeding styles of regular convicts :)

blues? i have owned a lot of cons in the past, marbled, pink, barred(the normals), jellybean but blues sound like dye injected fish. a natural convict can have a blueish hue to the fins, or females will sometimes have blue with the orange colors, but if the body is all blue its prob injected. i would wait to get non dyed fish for breeding
they will prob breed for you anyways tho
in my exp w/ cons, as long as u have a male and a female, then u have babies

I've seen a few versions of "Blue Convcits" that have different degrees of Blue hues... But they aren't blue the way (for example) Blue Dempseys are.

HRP x Convict hybrids are (usually) more Blue and could be called a Blue Convict (although they shouldn't be as they are HRP x Con).

...and every Convict I've ever come across will breed just as easily as regular old Convcits...
