Well as it turns out the pet store didn't screw me. Every time this guy molts he gets more blue. He is now about 6 inches long and almost entirely purple/blue.

I've got three much smaller crays in the tank with her as well, with LOTS of hiding places to get away from her.. we shall see what occurs...
