blue dempsey

anyone kept a blue dempsey before? need more feedback. is it suitable for a comm tank?

From what I know they are much like regular Jack Dempseys but not as aggressive... What other fish do you have?

i have one at 4nd a half inches right now........some they they arent very mean but mine is incredibly territorial and pretty nasty overall.........it was in a community tank and killed everything except one gourami.....that was one i first got it and didnt even know what it was..........my most favorite fish though.......i'd recommend getting it.........

what other tankmates it kill? isnt it a non aggressive fish? what its diet?

i will housing it with some tiger barbs , swordtails , shrimps,clown loach,channa assam sp. and a devil catfish

at first it was in with other gourami's, a pleco, and some big tetras........killed em all except one gourami.......i feed mine cichlid sticks, bloodworms, plankton, and sometimes flake.........mine is very aggresive even though i hear they arent at all............

male or female? it really depends on d temperament of the fish, it even kill a pleco... did it kill or eat them up?

I hear they are more sensative to water quality and susceptable to diseases/

yea i should have mentioned its a male.........it just tore the back of the pleco to shreds it was nuts..........
