One really big piece of info that we need to help the most is the GALLON size of your tank(s).
If you don't know how big the tanks volume is, please give us the dimensions.
Saying the tank is wider than it is isn't the point, a 10" fish in a 12" long tank is technically "longer than the fish" but not enough so.
Bioload is also a problem. Even if a fish can swim around in a circle in their tank, doesn't mean the tank can hold their bio-mass.
