I have five juvie mangs about three inches 4 of the five look just like that one. how can you tell if thats a female? one day i think they are male the next fm.

theres actually a fish that looks icredibly similar to a Jag but has the blue colouring. its a different species. i hope i am talking sense and haven't dreamt this up. lolol :-) :-s

That's not a managuense, it's a motaguense!
Red Tiger motag by the looks of it...good score!
They are a stunning fish! Google them! :grinyes:

:iagree:

definantly way too soon to be able to tell if its a female or a male. It still has its juvie coloration. Wait until it grows. If it loses its stripes and becomes more spotted its a male, if the stripes stay its a female. The head actually looks a little maleish to me but I am about 25% sure on that.

many jags, get this blue sheen you are seeing from time to time, but it does not stay permanet, it's temparary, depending on a number of things. it is definetly a jaguar, and i believe that it is too soon to just judge that it is female, i have had a few i have miss sexed from guessing sex at such a young age. i also believe most of you are going along with the group, who said female without keeping jaguars in past, and that sort of posting, will get the topic starter confused. wait and see.
