Blue Gene Jack Dempsey

bobblehead27 is correct.
Wehn you cross a Electric Blue Jack Dempsey with a regular Jack Dempsey , 100 % of the offspring will be Blue GENE.

If you bred these blueGENE offspring to other blueGENE, then their offspring would be 25% Blue JACKS. The rest will be a mix of Blue GENE and regular Jacks. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE REGULAR JACKS AND THE blue GENE.

Yeah that's my point. If they have never bred then you won't know without some sort of genetic testing. Even a fry from an EJBD and a regular JD might still not have the blue gene.
"Even a fry from an EJBD and a regular JD might still not have the blue gene."

What do you mean? We know that a reg jack x Electric blue jack = 100% blueGENE.
The offspring of BG x BG can vary due to mathematical probability but is around 25 % Blue Jacks. A EBJD x BG can vary due to mathematic probability but is around 50% EBJD.

Reg Jack x EBJD should not vary due to mathematical probability...100 % should be BlueGENE.

Ah ok. I was thinking of genetics like one parent having genes for blue eyes and the other parent with gene for brown eyes or the fruit fly experiments but sounds like doesn't apply here. I stand corrected.

I think it does apply here. There is still a recessive trait involved if it is eye colour, polled or horned cattle etc. Its been a while since i took Biology though. But i know with blue Jacks due to having done it before.

I think you're confusing having the blue gene and expressing the blue gene. An ebjd is expressing the blue gene because he got the recessive gene from both of his parents. However a blue gene jd is carrying the gene but phenotypically looks like a regular jd. So yes it is similar to the blue eye brown eye scenario. You can be a carrier of blue eye gene while still expressing brown eyes.
