i have recently aquired a blue gill and i was wondering if i could get some info on the guys and could they be kept with african cichlids. Also its wild so ya.

Bluegills and other various types of Sunfish can normally be kept with different types of Cichlids. They usually will go together peacefully.
What I would do is quarantine your fish for a month to see if it does anything abnormal, or to see if it has anything out of the ordinary on the fish. I am not an expert on diseases, so you will have to talk to someone else for more detail.
