I personally wouldn't worry about quarantining wild caught fish from a pond. But that's just me

Depends on the pond but either way nothings 100%! Well kept and healthy Red belly do seem less prone to illness/parasite tho.

My concerns is that there is some lethal diseases and parasites going on around here. VHS, black spots, yellow grubs etc pose a threat to your piranhas, unless the infected fish are frozen enough to kill most diseases and parasites. The diseases may not go away even if they are in quarantine for months.

IMO fillet the sunfish and freeze the fillets while you can just freeze the whole minnows will save you alot of time and $$$ than have to wait for them to be disease-free for many months.

I feed fillets, pellets, and shrimp as a staple but I want to add a live treat once in a blue moon for him.

And I still think quarantining is a must, just to be safe.
