i have 12 Blue gourami (now 11 ) and they had a flowerhorn tankmate and a common pleco . personally i dont think the FH is the suspect since he doesnt even chase the gourami's he just drives them away from the food, thats why i feed my gourami when my FH is sleeeping which is most of the time, i think its the pleco though .

Sorry for your loss, wanna hear something more weird?

I have a baby FH with other fish, and he/she chases them away to from food... but my rainbow shark, which is like 2-3 inches?

beat the crap out of my cloan loach (which is a bit bigger), ripped its dorsal fins, and parts of outter-tail, and smashed the other rainbow shark as well.

Yep mate, if a rainbow shark can cause so much havoc...im sure anything can.

Sorry again for your loss.

You mean your gourami feeders for your FH? How big is the tank?

Rainbow sharks are completely intolerant to conspecifics. I also hope you have more than one clown loach.

Yessir I do have more than one clown loach and they sometimes have a fight now and then, but are fine, and so im really getting mad at that rainbow shark of mine.

Hes forced my other rainbow shark to stay in ONE corner of the tank, that shark NEVER leaves that place. And when he does, the other shark attacks it.

Shoud I move my rainbow shark to my 4ft with my baby FH, since they dont seem to mind each other in this 3ft? But seriously, my other rainbow shark and clown loach (victims of my agro rainbow shark) do not look healthy.

I'd get rid of both rainbows. Because as soon as one one leaves the other one will take up dominance and still bully the CL's.

did the flowerhorn is the culprit im sure those things dont care who you are theyll smash you..and sorry for your loss i had a dwarf gourami it died on dec 26th..

sometimes fish just die.. Matter a fact, I had a gourami die a few days ago and have no idea why.. It just happens sometimes..

You admit a known violent fish does show some pattern of violence yet you still want to blame a peaceful fish....hmmmm....

When the FH is the only thing left in the tank... who are you going to blame?

You cant just say it was the FH. Like i gave you my example, my FH is the dominant fish in my tank, yet in front of my OWN eyes, I see my rainbow shark beating up my other fish... hm

It could be the Pleco or the FH , especially it the Blue gourami was ill and it was a common pleco. How big is your tank and do you have a landscaped habitat setup for them (rocks, plants , driftwood)?
