Once a herring finds your pond it will always keep coming back. You can try all the differen't tecniques to keep it away, but it will wise up sooner or later.

Just remember all, MFK doesn't promote illegal activities, and killing a heron is illegal.

We had one taking our goldfish in france. My mate got one of those plastic herons to stand next to the pond...I laughed, but it worked...My mate assures me they are pretty solitary and prefer to find somewhere else if theres already a heron there.

The trout farm down the road did the same and the herons stopped coming there too, but when the herons stopped coming the storks started, so they put netting over the ponds...this worked great for a couple of weeks, a stork would land on the netting, try and reach the fish then fly off to the nearest tree in a sulk. Then oneday they figured out that if they all stood on the same part of the net it sunk into the water making it easier for them to get the trout than if it wasnt there....
