i wonder if darker blue better or light blue is better, there are a bunch but only one was extremely dark and they are all labeled as "Blue jack dempsey" $28 each, approximately 1".

i am getting one cuz 2 would be too expensive, and i am planning to mix with a flowerhorn.
and i also heard that blue JD die easily, not as hardy as the original one.

That is a bad combo bro, EBJDs are very docile and prone to sickness. I kept mine with community fish and he thrived. I personally would not put him in with a FH, they stress way too easy.

ebjd stress very easily? thats what i heard from some other web sites, thought a good price fish is good to keep, well not getting it then, thank u for the comments.

Get the lighter ones. Darker ones at that size is not a good sign. I had a batch of EBJD's and all my darker ones died. All the lighter ones lived. Shared this with other EBJD breeders and some tend to share the same experience. If its 2-3inches and showing black, it may just be breeding colors.

At the petland here they have had the same EB's for over a month and one is way big now and is mostly black and less blue. They just got more and they are really nice and one short body. I was gonna get one or a few but just got a new FH so no space for them to grow out in peace.
