my fh ate the tail of my ebjd
lol i doubt it. today i saw bjd again, so pretty, so i am getting it with texas and red devil to breed a red texas, decided not to get fh b/c it does not tolerate tankmates though some are tougher than him.

I also read about the EBJD being shy and weak but i have had mine for 6 months now and have him with a small Red Terror. He actually runs the tank the EBJD he is a little bigger but not much , also very aggressive and comes towards the glass as soon as you walk in. both are growing.Maybe i got lucky but i hope he stays the same. see pics

thats what i want from ebjd, i hate when it being shy and stress easily. By the way, thank you very much for the infomation that you have provided, i am very glad to see that.
oh yeah, one more question, why is your bjd is looking different comparing to the ones in pet store; they extremely blue with a lot of blue spots and flowers, is it b/c of camera effect?

FH is solitary, i just get addicted when i see the stunning color from blue jd. it looks prettier than grade A FH and super red texas.

Wow, you got very lucky... I hope your luck doesn't run out at the expense of your Blue Dempsey... Good Luck!

Dominator... Using one lucky experience to base a plan around isn't the best idea... You've had a good bit of experienced advice here in this thread. Best of luck with whatever you do...

PS - There isn't much aggression difference between a Red Devil and a FlowerHorn... and when you create a breeding pair they get a lot more aggressive...

Also, FYI... It takes a lot more than just breeding a RD & Tex together to make a Red Texas...

Do your homework, it'll save you both time and money ;)

The colors of his ebjds (didn't notice if that was one fish with different lighting or two fish) are what you would expect to see in an ebjd (electric blue jd). It's not clear (to me) if your description refers to the lfs fish, but if the coloration you're seeing at the lfs is significantly different than the pictures above, then the lfs fish are not ebjd. They MAY be standard jds that happen to have a lot of blue spangling. In which case they are overpriced, but might have a better shot with a fh. FWIW.
