blue johanni and venustus

Looks like it could be the tank distortion, seems like a male venustus to me, but the other one doesn't look anything like a johannii... especially a female.

You're right about it not looking like a johanni...looks to be a hybrid but its hard to tell
 
Hmm not sure got her the same time I got my male johanni and her colors were always duller then the other

Pseudotropheus johannii are dimorphic; males are blue/black and females/juveniles are yellow/orange colored.

Hmm ill have to do research on her then find out what she is because I know its a female I watched her breed with two different males I got. Any ideas lol

So found out that she is a Mainganos witch looks like a johanni but the females are blue! thanks for pointing out that my fish looked funny lol

I'd say your best bet is a some sort of hybrid; a better picture of her could help us identify her more properly or her specific combination. Pseudotropheus cyaneorhabdos don't have vertical bars intersecting their lateral stripe.
 
Gotcha hmm probably a hybrid the place I got her from ain't exactly known for there quality of fish lol but ill try and get a better pic of her once I get back home
