Blue LED's the wal-mart way...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes thanks for the idea i just went and bought the lights and clips but here in canada the same box of lights was $12.99 clips were different but same price $2 a box damn wal-mart lol i dont have a canopy on my tank but im thinking of mounting them to the back of my 4 foot light facing down the using the aluminum extended off the back of the light then down to keep the light from showing in the whole room

Thanks again my son will love the out come me too especially how cheap and easy it is.

I did the same thing last night but i cut my lights in half and hard wired them into the hood light with a seperate switch so i would not need a extra plug in to the wall.

sweet i put mine together while cooking dinner took all of 35 mins and 5 mins after eating to finish setting up the wires tested it out and it looks amazing... im going to add the aluminum to catch the stray light on the wall behind the tank but great idea. Thank you

nospeed how long is your tank. I am thinking of doing the same for my 29 gal. and its only 30 inches long, just wondering how many lights i would need?

im going to do the same to my 29 as well
im figuring the box of 30 will do it with just a slightly bigger space between lights the box of 60 did 4 feet just perfect.

Mine is 48" and it was perfect for the 60 count string. I would say on your tank the 30 count will do fine . Also you wont need the extra light to push to the bottom cause you tank is not as deep either.

Just remember...ad some hot glue to the clips...they seem to loosen up after 2 weeks other than that it's been a success so far. If they only made the 2 sided tape a bit stronger they would be perfect. I am gonna try a set of the white ones next to see how well they work will post pics soon.
