i dont hink you can expect to breed them intentionally bro. i think 1 out of 20 lobsters are born blue (not sure). i dont think you can really isolate and breed that gene. i'm not so sure though, anyone have exact info on this?

sorry to disagree to previous reply but u can have blue lobsters only as they are a species on their own..i have had 6 of them, 2 have grown to 5 inches long. bad luck my jaguars learned to appreciate lobster very quickly
but i bought them from this guy that was breeding them real easy.all blue australian freshwater lobsters.
There exist several species of blue crayfish (mostly either North American Procambarus and Orconectes or Australian Cherax) and blue morphs of other crayfish, all of which are incorrectly termed "lobsters".
Those look like Procamberus allenii. You should get half and half from that spawn. Some blue some brown. Just because they breed does not mean babies. The male puts in a sperm plug. The female then can carry the plug for 2 years and she decides when she wants to lay eggs. As the eggs pass they are fertalized by passing threw the plug. Some tips on getting her to lay....
Move her to a seperate tank and feed her well for 2 months at least. No heater during this period. AT the end of that time put a heater in and do a large water change. Bring the temp up slowly to about 78. Keep the temp there and change half of the water weekly. Feed heavily. This will usually work.
Once eggs are seen stop the water changes and feed minimally. If you make her shed she will loose the eggs. Growing them out is another long winded task.
