Good question McBlack. Nobody knows for certain. It could fade away in time or it could be there forever . Nobody can tell for sure.
except the people that keep them. I think they keep it, some of the "blue motoros" ive found are pretty big

It will eventually fade.. :( We sold our blue Motoro at a discounted price once we found this out.

I actually think it is a color morph around the thin edge of their disc. Some rays when very young and skinny are a tranparant opaque or beige color, that you can actually see through.. I think some Motoros end up having a blue hue to them instead of this beige color, and the blue is most noticable when the Ray is very young and thin. When it ages and grows into it's darker coloration, it loses its blue coloration.

Heres some pics of our Blues.. Notice the pic with both blue Motoros.. At times, the lighter one would be blue (stressed) and at other times, it wouldn't show any blue.

i thought they would fade since the difference between a regular and blue is minimal. but ive never kept a blue before so i really wasnt sure. The rose colored motoros stay light colored and red.
