What's wrong with the shelter pits? Can someone please explain this?

I really despise pit breeders... we don't need more puppies!

(I LOVE pits, I have 4.. I've also rescued tons of them from the streets, and there is not a week that goes by where I don't get a rescue call.)

PLEASE do background, and house checks, and make them sign a spay/neuter contract.

i agree with you i volunteer at a local animal shelter and theres so many pits just last week i saw at least ten not counting the one ones that weren't up for grabs yet people pass them buy just cuz of reputation im one of the few volunteers who even takes them out not even the employs want to walk them its very upsetting hopefully they find some way to control breeding of all animals not just pits although pits are the ones that suffer the most for those of u looking for a pit theres a few pups in the upland shelter that i saw on Tuesday for the guy selling the pits i hope your able to determine if ur giving those pups a good home to who ever u sell them too and not just trying to make a few bucks good luck with the pups and hopefully they find some one who will care for them and not abandon them when they cant control them or they wont stop digging there yard up

Most pits at shelters are mutts a cross between golden retrievers or other dog mix with pits most shelter pits are aggressive or can't be housed with other dogs what beats a puppy that you can adjust to your kids and get it use to your other dogs or cats hopefully your attempt was with good intentions then more of just being a troll , also shelters arent all that great or responsible they let anyone with 30$ buy a dog they don't do house inspections or anything as in for me I ask for updates and pictures to build up my portfolio of pit generations as I look to make a name for myself as a good quality pit breeder I also offer to take the dog back at any point of it's life wether it's a year or 10 years later for whatever reason .I yet to see one of my pits at a shelter

But regardless if it's shelter or from a breeder the thing is to find a companion for life I would say to check out a shelter or a breeder and get what steals your heart nuff said

Someone asked you what line of pit it was, and you responded with APBT-- you have a lot to learn.

I have 4 rescue pits (all very much pure bred)- and very much dog, people, cat, kid friendly..

"most shelter pits" Uhm no.. Actually, less than 5% of shelter pits are deemed not adoptable because of aggression issues. Most just don't get adopted because there are too many- and simply put, we can't take them all.

I think when it comes to touchy subjects (like pitbulls, abortion, politics) there is just no room for it for a public forum as such...

I have much to say, but I value this site as a source of education, and I do not want to get banned.

Here are my very aggressive shelter pits:

If you want to make a name for yourself as a good pit breeder get some stock with papers instead of selling unregistered pups for $200.
