According to planetcatfish, pH for this fish is 6.0-7.0: http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=210
added some more regulator today pleco is no longer really fanning but was wondering if it is safe to feed him since I have to feed the tetras and cory cats also he is rasping on stuff now
That great, yes go ahead and feed your other fishes. KEEP THE PH UP. L200 will be fine
he ate a piece of wafer but after adding a tad bit of water and the stress coat and some stress zyme he fans himself a tad off and on and sometimes on just one fin or just one side of him will this go away also added 1/4 of a teaspoon of regulator after adding the water but the pleco is not like last night is there anything I need to do?i will be getting a better ph test kit Thursday but is there anything to worry about
Again for now just keep the ph up!!! Nothing more. Yes it normal for him to start fanning again after what u just added. Dnt add anything else but regulator and be patience!!
so will he most likely fan till tomorrow and this fanning wont kill him right(it is just like last night) so how long should I moniter him and not feed and keep ph up before balance returns?ill look into some rock but will the rock hurt the plants or because the wood and plants are in tank will it stay around nuetral
Ph stay good he should stop fanning by morning, no the fanning is not going to kill him right away this is a sign of stress. Dnt worry about adding rocks, crush corals, and shell to buffer the water until he back to it happy normal self. Plants do lower the ph some keep adding buffers just keep the ph in the 7.0 range also as long as he is fanning he not going to eat so dnt worry about it eating after all this past it will start eating in a day or so.
