"Everyone is a "Back Yard" breeder, where else is it going to take place? The store?"
lol thats about the most ignorant statement i've read about dog breeding in years. I've raised papered GSD's and old english bulldogs and grew up around highly respected dog breeders. NOT ONE OF THEM HAD A LITTER OF PUPS IN THE BACKYARD. everytime a we had pups they were born in the house and likewise for my parents friends.
to make such a bold statement is ignorance at its finest. maybe in the back, back woods of kentucky (btw, i was born in hartford, kentucky) people only have litters in the backyard, but not most breeders who take pride in what they do. people who do it for the breed, not for the bucks.
"This guy wasn't asking a ridiculous price for these puppies."
exactly, because he got with one of his homies and decided he could make some easy money breeding pits since they are the popular dog with IQ-under-100 group. he knows that anyone who is really into pits will want to know exactly where the dog came from and will be willing to pay for the proper lineage. however, he's just throwing out cheap prices to move these dogs before the next litter is due.
in any case, i'm done on this thread. i cannot seriously believe this guy has gotten any support from some of the members here. i mean, how strange would it look if i was trying to sell fish on a dog website...just think about it for a minute....
