i was surprised today to see that my blue ram pair was protecting some eggs they laid.........im crossing my fingers that i get some babies............any special tips for these???

Yes, remove them both, and make sure water movement is good. My Rams ate their eggs.

you'll need very soft water. if the eggs weren't laid in soft water initially, you can forget about moving them as they will melt under osmotic pressure.

once the eggs hatch, the fry are too tiny for baby brine shrimp and need microworms. the fry are also very delicate IME and lots will die. most of the adults have bad parenting skills.

aren't I just a ray of sunshine? :naughty:

windsurfer.....

yea well i wasnt really planning on breeding them this soon if even at all im not really too concerned but it would be nice

Best of luck, I love how rams look. I'm waiting for my 20gallon to be moved into the house and I was thinking some rams :). Just remove the parents get some micro worms and pray you get some babies :)

i dont have anywhere to put the parents if i take them out unless i feel like driving for 3 1/2 hours so i think im gonna just let nature take its course
