Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has heard of a blue severum before? All ive seen here in Australia are greens, golds & reds before. Found some fry for sale & im considering getting one. Any info much appreciated. ☺
Heres a picture of one of the parents.

Saw what was labeled simply as "blue severum" over 20 years ago in a shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Very blue/turquoise, some individuals a fairly dark blue. Don't know where they came from, whether they were what I've seen called Heros sp. "Santarem Blue" or something else, but without special lighting they were equally to more blue compared with the Santarem Blue on this page. Other photos I've seen of Santarem Blue have been kind of blue or hints of blue, but not like the one in the link and not like the several individuals I saw in person over 20 years ago.

The Peruvian Heros tend to be really blue, and there are also a few very blue severums that come out of Santarem and Manaus. The one in the picture is definitely the female. Unfortunately if the male is a gold/red you're going to end up with mutt fry.

I think that coloration is really nice.

I don't know enough about Sevs to give you any input, though. How big is that fish above?
