Blue water??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was reading some 30 year old Aquarium Digest mags, and the ads are really cool back then.

One of them was for water dyes, saying that they helped comfort fish by emulating their natural environment. They had dark coloured ones, red, blue, etc. Really neat.

Yours is definitely methylene blue, a dye that has anti-fungal properties... but reminded me of that :D

i was going to get a fish from a pet shop and she squirted about 3 times Methylene Blue into the bag ....without mixing it, so i told her i didn't want the fish. This was about a year ago....still not sure if this was an ok practice? Didn't look right, so that's why i left it.

Tidy-bowl! it keeps my tanks sparkly clean!! j/k lol

Its probably bag buddies, they release oxygen prevent infection and calm the fish for shipping.I use them when I ship fish.

Yes bag buddies do turn the water blue and they will slow your fish down just a bit.

Are bag buddies the blue-ish tabs? The LFS has thrown a few into the stuff that I buy, but they just call em oxygen tablets.

Oxygen tabs give a blue hue to the water as well.
