Blue x Blue Dempsey 'Pair' (w/ pics)

So many of you have heard me mention my Blue x Blue Dempsey ‘pair’… but have never seen pics. Someone finally bugged me enough to go snap a few. After 67 shots these are the only 3 worth sharing, which is why I don’t take many pics

They spawn occasionally, though not every month. This female does not blacken up like the rest of the Blue females I’ve had spawn. If you want information on Blue Dempseys in general there are several other semi-recent threads loaded with info, I’m not retyping it

Oh, and they are in the fishroom so the tank isn't meant to be pretty. I still haven't decided where/how to 'display' them yet. But soon...

PS - The male is 7~7.5”…

they look gorgeous, does't really matter what the tank looks like with fish like those!

the black gravel will bring the colour out they wont be so white with bare bottom or light coloured gravel my babies and larger jd's have nice colouring when in dark gravel

Speaking of blackening up, do you find this is something only the females do? Mine are about 2" and some of them are almost completely black, moreso than any of my standard jacks.

mine go from white blue with black through them and then sometimes almost matalic blueblack
