I agree don't get it, unless you like dyed fish.

i unfortunately bought one of these as one of the first fish i had before i really got into the hobby, only lasted a few days. after learning about dyed fish, i kicked my self in the arse for supporting this horrible practice!! I will not buy fish from stores that sell dyed fish, and blaintly tell the store owner/worker why im leaving!!!!

yeah its dyed, it is a horrible practice where they dip them in chemicals to burn off their slime coats and them dip them in more chemicals mixed with dye to burn into their skin, very few make it and the ones that do live very shortened lives and the dye doesnt even last more than a few months anyways, i am like brown2010 i refuse to buy anything from any store that sells these fish but luckily i dont have any in my area that do

I too dispise the practice, but fall short of refusing to buy from a store due to the sale of these abused fish. I do make sure that THEY were not the "tattoo artists" though. Newsflash, if ignorant (either or both stupid and extremely rude) people would NOT buy these abused fish, the practice would cease.

I have a difficult time boycotting a fish store dedicated to supplying the fish that are desired by their customers. Maybe the ****** that supply the demand for this garbage, and the sadists that perform the torture are whom you should direct your disdain toward!

But that's unfair if you consider even beginners ignorant. It's mostly beginners who buy them not knowing what they exactly are, what they had gone through and what the fish even needs unless readily explained by someone who already knew. Their perception towards fish (unless somehow raised their level of awareness) will vary from what they perceive other pets.
