i saw a really cool little feeder fish that was surviving with a giant midas. i said to the lfs owner that if he saves the it ill buy it later.im possitive its a bluegill. i really felt bad for it so im gonna save it and eventually put it with a jag, (possible) midas, ornate bichir, and probably some other same aggression species in a 200+ g tank. wuld this be okay or should i offer it to my unc whu will put it in a 55g with a jd that never comes out to say hi. i dont know much about this species so can some one help me with some basic info. :)

Are you sure? Young bluegills look like this:

They are pretty mellow compared to most cichlids, but will hold their own. Mine is in water that ranges from 68 in Winter to 78 in Summer. They seem to be very hardy fish.

That bluegill should eat just about anything you feed it, once he sees other fish eat he may get jealous. just keep the conditions in the tank the way you have them, it will adjust. and he may be more mild mannered if there are alot of places to hide.
