I went fishing late in the evening just to kill time. I caught a green sunfish with a significant hump right before the dorsal fin. I thought it may have been defective. I believe it's a male ready for breeding. Didn't get a picture.
I put it in the tank and instantly it claimed a spot. The green is only 4 inches and took on 5 inch bluegills. Then the hybrid showed up and I thought how could I forget

The hybrid killed the other 2 greens I had. The green stared at the hybrid like, "Who are you? I took on those big fish and I will take you on too!!!" The hybrid looked at the green like it was saying, " I am not like those other fish, I am very different and three times your size."
I was looking for the net. The hybrid started slowing advancing and the green looked like "You gotta ask yourself Punk, do you feel lucky today? Well let's go Punk!!!" The hybrid immediately attacked. Well, well, well the hybrid tried twice and got it's officially title of "PUNK." The hybrid cowered on the other side of the tank and never looked back. I thought okay, the battle is settled and I can have a green in the tank. Then I added another green that I had 2 weeks and had no problems.
In tank number 2, the Warmouth is beautiful!! Tiny flecks of blue on the body and on the gill plates. This Warmouth is 8 inches!!! When I caught it, I didn't know what is was because it was dark outside. A guy fishing said not a warmouth. So I immediately went to the closest parking lot an still couldn't identify it. When I got it to the fish room, I knew what I had. Had I known it was a warmouth in the beginning I would have let it go.
Now it has been in the bucket I clean the tanks with, so can't release it. I took some pics and put it in with the 5 inch bluegills. It was eventually challenged by the dominant pink stripe bluegill. The warmouth lost twice and the bluegill left it alone and moved further down the tank. Luckily I have another 125 I am putting the bigger fish in soon.
Here are some pics of the Warmouth:
