BlueGrass Aquatics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
never purchased from Bluegrass but I did ship fish in the past that arrived 1 day late and all fish survived but I had an all DOA on 2 days late. I say give 2 day shipping a shot. you'll be amazed on how resilient fish are.

That's would I like to hear, lol. I might have to give it a shot. After all, it isn't a very expensive fish, and the shipping for 2nd day isn't much either, and if the fish arrive in good condition then it was worth it. The only issue is the "if". :nilly:

Eddie packages his fill well. Something to consider.

Thanks for the info. I'm getting more and more convinced to order 2nd day, but first I'll be checking out one of my LFSs to see what they have, and if they don't have anything I'm looking for I'll take a risk at Bluegrass Aquatics.;)

What knives are you going to order? Considering you've had a zebra and a centipede, the knives I see for sale on that site seem pretty vanilla. I wish I could find a zebra like the one in your avatar!

I know there isnt much of a selection for Knives, but the one I am looking at is the Brown Ghost Knife. I think that if I was to order I would also get a CK, and soon enough need a larger tank for it. Decided I'd take the risk, seems how I have been avoiding getting any Knives that will get too large compared to what I am used to. But I am hoping to be getting a larger tank soon, and it could be a year before the CK gets to a size that is too much for me. But I never know, plans may change. ;)

Bluegrass is a good shipper... but sometimes fish are pretty squished in their small tanks...

Well with 2 day shipping and the temps here in KY dipping into the 30's at night, that means your fish will set in a warehouse over night in mid 30 degree weather.

I am sure he will use heat packs and insulation, but it a big risk IMO.

Have you exhausted any local sources with there suppliers? The fish you seek seem pretty common.
