one more question for you guys, i've found a tank its roughly 80 gals i believe, what wattage should the heting pad be for it? its 5o" long or so. i havent gone to check out the tank yet but just figure id ask what kind of wattage i'd be looking at

I've always used heat pads sized about 1/3 of the dimension to create a temperature gradient.

Okay thanks, what wattage would i be looking at for a tank that is 50 inches or so long? its a fairly big tank im just not sure what would heat it enough for the snake

It depends on what heating method you choose. It ranges from heat pads (tend to be lower; 24 wattage as a reference on the biggest zoo med heat pad) vs. RHP (roughly x2 wattage). Glass tanks have a tougher time retaining heat, so I suggest you get a sizable one (or higher wattage) along with a decent thermostat to prevent temperature fluctuation.

If you want what is best for your new BRB, you should get a pvc enclosure with a RHP, but it will cost you. Also, another thing to keep in mind when you're purchasing a 48" long tank is whether or not you will be purchasing an adult or a neonatal snake.
