Boat damaged in anti-whaling clash in Antarctica (sea shepherd at it again)

I don't think it was a stunt at all! Those guys are truly putting there lives on the line to try and stop the Japanese whaling efforts. This is just some of the aftermath. That's BS that they are trying to make it seem like the sea shepherd is out to harm innocent people. If those people are so innocent, then what are they doing on the ship in the first place. Knock em' dead

I'm with Zoodiver and Aqua Sanctuary on this, that whole research loophole is an unfunny joke and the Japanese whalers are laughing all the way to the bank.

i strongly disagree with the japanese whaling, but i also think sea shepherd is going about stopping it the wrong way
the first video clearly shows that the ady gil was not "dead in the water" or even attempting to avoid a collision. it seems like an expensive sea shepherd publicity stunt imo

actually watch the first video closer. i hate those sea shepard guys but im on thier side here. u can see there engines churning but they are not moving at all. they are indeed stationary. u can also see that the whaler boat turned. im on those shepard idiots on this one

Oh the sea shepherds. Maybe they should get some people with actual experience on the ocean instead of a bunch of hippies. Regardless, I feel like both boats could have avoided the collision. Sea shepherds could have reversed, whalers could have not rammed them. I saw some info on that boat somewhere though. I think it runs purely on biodiesel and has a top speed of like 40 knots or something. I feel like they could have done a little more manuevering if they really wanted to get out of the way.

I think that the people involved in this anti-whaling effort need to step on paul watsons face and get him to do some other the overly stupid life threatening things he makes them do. And I bet you anything that he wouldn't do them b/c he's not that brave/dumb.

either way a bad day for anyone who gives this group money. lol

This is my guess, like a idealogical game of chicken. The japanese whaling industry may be terrible, but the sea sheperds are just a bunch of eco-terrorists.

I agree 100% ,just doesn't make sense to me for them to expect the whalers not to get aggressive .

i personally love whales (used to do a lot of whale watching along the east coast of south africa)... but i find these greenpeace a pain in the ass.... yes hunting whales is condemned but not in the countries where these fishermen come from they are just doing a job and putting your boat in the way of a large couple of thousand tonne vessel isnt going to change that..... perhaps they should save their fuel and constant boating costs to endorse the families of these whale fishermen so that they dont have to go out whale hunting... it would most likely be a lot cheaper and a lot less irritating ;)

actually whale hunting is banned worldwide except for reasearch. they arnt doing research

Thats why I say it's a joke, they are like criminals who mock the justice system and these organizations who put these laws in place dont do a damned thing about it.How much whale flesh do these people need?
