Boat propellers are dangerous things. I lost my 13 year old son this last July to a boat propeller on a 21 ft maxum boat. Did you all know there are prop guards that are reasonably priced that will save both poeple and animals from this horrible fate. Nobody buys them because they slow initial take off slightly. Sorry I will get off my soap box now I just hate to see one more thing hurt by these destructive propellers.

Whoah, that is horrible. I would hate propellers too. That's very sad, and it is good that you provide information on a safer way to do things.

It was just a whole series of mistakes made and the accident happened. Worst part of it all is my father was driving the boat and there were 4 children on board cousins and nephews of mine. The boat malfunctioned and there were never any charges filed. But my ex is trying to get money out of the whole thing it is just disgusting. Anyway theser devices are called prop guards and I think all boats should be mandated to have them. He has only been gone 4 months and I miss him so much. I have 2 rays myself and have also swam with them at the grand cayman islands and I would say boats needs them for people to be safe but they will also save aquatic life so it's a double requirenment in my opinion. Anybody that has a boat should look into these prop guards.

I agree on the prop guard comments. Very sorry for your loss. I saw a story on prop guards many years ago( 60 min or 20/20...) they would save lives, no doubt about it.

What is the comment about rectums in the story? It is a total random thing to write up.
