It sounds like I may be able to score either 1 V Argentea or 2 Bocourti...

I am wanting to switch the 220 over to CA. I would like to keep either one of these as the center peice fish with some fire mouth OR con sized CA to go with them. (think nutty's tank) for those of you that have seen it.

so would you guys go with the V.A. or the Bocourti ???????

Argentea for sure.

if i do the V.A i will only be able to keep one in the 220 for sure as they would kick the crap out of each other.... wiht the Bocourti i sould/would be able to keep several so i don't kow what to do.

Both look amazing as adults. They're so different though. I will say this; the bocourti will not yield as much instant gratification IMO. They need to grow up and fill out before they display their potential. Argentea are flashy at 5" but they too look best when filled out. Tough choice!

I like the long term look of the bocourti. The colors on the big ones are out of this world. As a plus you can work out a good stock list of others with them as they are more tollerent then the V.A.

i would go with bocourti(my favorite ca)in the long run you can have a better stocklist and a better show tank with the bocourti,me personally i hate a large tank with just on fish, which you most likely will have withe the argentea.

I voted Argentea but the above statement is soooo true. You will end up having just 1 fish if you choose the Argentea not because you can't find tank mates but because you'll want to have a perfect specimen and in order to avoid nipped fins and what not you'll more than likely house him alone.

go with the bocourti, a full grown adult is a fantastic display in its own right (not at the level of argentea)

I voted argentea, but either will be a fine choice.
