Hate to be the one to tell you this, but bocourti get HUGE, and they grow fast... kinda like oscars.

Your definitely gonna need a tank bigger than 50 gallons... I'd say maybe 90 minimum, though you ask me, I wouldn't put them in anything smaller than a 125 myself.

Thank you... I think I'ma have my buddy come over and take a few shots he does that stuff on the side. I'm getting better, but I'm def not there yet. Thanks again.

I wonder why bocourtis are not more common in the hobby.
They get a nice size, are peacefull and they have amazing colours.
I never see them for sale here in germany, its a shame.
You have some really nice fishes !

I believe its mainly due to their size and personality. While Oscars are about the same size, they are much more personable than Bocourtis, which I believe is the difference in their popularity in the hobby.
 
I dont like the personality of oscars.
They eat like pigs and dont look very nice in most of the cases.

I absolutely love bocourti man. My pearsei should have been a boc but my son didnt want to wait..... ended up with a maniac pearsei. Hows your boc temperment ?
