Only one in North America known of is in Canada. Not common, not cheap and not imported. (Yet) They come from Suriname and it is a long trek from their collection area to any holding facility/exporter. Definitely won't be a cheap ray when/if it becomes available. If you are serious about one you better have cash in hand and ready if they become available because they won't last long and there probably won't be many. You can expect to pay several K for one. I would be leary about any who say they can get them.
To my knowledge only 1 person brings them in. When they arrive better be ready to pay in full and be happy with what you get. IF throwing $1K+ at someone you don't know for a ray you don't have a pic of sounds risky they probobly aren't for you, as some of the people looking for them know that's how it's going to go, and they already have thier $ saved up.
I've allready heard that IF they make it this year they may have to be imported from Europe, as that's likely where they will be headed.
I would be VERY weary of anyone saying they can get them, unless it's coming from the only guy that has got them before.

maybe you guys misunderstood i'm not trying to sale to him, i'm saying that this spe is expensive and rare you might need thousand(S) assume many thousand $ to get them and you can ask some vendor who import the ray or some good sort you might get one i'm sure they have not only couple of this spe ray in this world( they are very nice looking i would love to get one too if i have that chance),,so don't get me wrong just want to put some of comment that i want to say
DB, I know of one other trustworthy vendor (besides the one you speak of) who has his ear to the ground hoping to get some. 
This might be dumb, but are we talking about rainbow fish? I can get the Boesemani's around here at a LFS for like 7 or 8 bucks for a 3" fish...did I miss something?
