There out there I'm sure. Same as the xingu. You can bet if there is that much hype about them someone with big bucks will "do what it takes" to get their hands on them. When the ban was on the black rays and BD's, people were "somehow" managing to get them. I'm sure these forums are followed closely to see what comments and interest are out there now that the black ray market has softened. There are a lot of ray keepers out there with big tanks that are looking for something "new" or "different".

Xactly:)

its not that easy to get boesemani due to location.suriname is very very far away from any area they catch rays in brazil,Peru or Columbia ect.fisher man cannot just fire up their boats and go for a longer drive to get the boese
Theirs a reason they are rare in hobby and it's because they are expensive to get.

Their we're about 20 brought in, a bunch went to Europe and the rest are a mystery. I'm sure theirs the odd ones flying under the radar:)

May not be easy, but if someone could get 20 of them a few years ago, I'm sure they could do it again - especially when there are people suggesting price tags of $25,000.00 on a ray (xingu). Heck I'd get on a plane and wander around the jungle for that kind of cash LOL! Retirement here I come!

i was planning on going to Suriname to get a few but then i was told by uarujoey on diyfishkeepers that oliver lucan made a pact with the feds and he is the only one allowed to export or import them from suriname:cry:

Good luck in Suriname lol

Are you going to fly down to the nearest city that doesn't exist and just start fishing lol

You better pack your bags and enough food for a few weeks.a very very long expidition is needed to navigate their. It's not like brazil of Peru or columbia. Is very far away from civilization no major city's low population and very thick . It's more like a territory like the Canadian arctic or Russian arctic but above the equator so it's hot.

And if Oliver said that like many other lines of crap he's tried to feed me he's full of shiet once again. I would t put it past the guy he's is full of it. He sells rays for ppl.he is no more than a middle man.he tells ppl he exports rays by the thousands puts loads of pictures on his blog and I bought the exact rays off his pics from a different guy.
One thing though he does have the ability to bring in some nice rare fish ,if only he wasn't such a liar I would do buisness with him .

Just like EVERY other "vendor" out there. There's good and bad opinion.

I had GREAT dealings with the guy. I'm VERY happy with the rays I got. Some of the most beautiful I've ever laid my own 2 eyes on.
