I think we would have access to nice pearls if they weren't hybridized as frequently as they are. If there were a market we probably would. And then in turn they'd be expensive
Thats my take on pearls already here in the states.As far as rare rays and shy we don't get them without an importers license... I have no clue. Money talks I guess. If I wanted rare rays I would get an importers license and establish a relationship with an exporter out of Peru. And I'd fly down there myself. Supposedly there were some nice Rays in Iquitos. One way to find out, Al. Let's go!

Maybe some of the cool aid going around would set me straight?!?! Maybe I start shoving money in the right pockets and I'll finally get access to all the "cool" rays. OR at least stories about the cool rays that "might" be available to me one day.......

I'm having trouble reading through what is sarcasm and if you actually want to have a meaningful conversation...
I know of someone who was thinking of bringing in high quality pearls from Thailand but is hesitant as they will have to be sold between 1200-1500 each because of new cites and shipping cost. So he worries people wont want to spend that kind of dollars for them.
I would pay that for clean dark based pearls. The light base doesn't do much for me.

Sad but true. It took me years and many failed attempts to find the quality stock that I truly wanted. Sometimes you have to spend and buy stuff you may not really want, to get in with the right folks.
Some of the elite ray circles are very secretive. They don't use MFK or Facebook, they only sell to their own. Getting in good with those groups takes time, money and trust. If you can find them at all.
