Boggys bringing it back!

Wow...Thats an awsome ray :) Looks really small in the pics tho..The tank must be really big...But..Goodluck on getting him :D

Once you have sampled rays you never get them out of your system.....welcome back to keeping the best fish in the world Boggy!
The name Boesemani was infact an incorrect one for Marble rays, this apparently refers to a newly described species from "Peru"not Colombia which does bare a striking resemblance to many top quality Marbles.Ive seen pictures of a couple of preserved specimens, they had a dark base colour with "thick"black rings surrounding a rich orange middle.....it will be nice to see one in the flesh.

ha ha, thanx for clarifying that for me dude :) just eanted to make sure. Also what do you think to him? cos i know youve got good taste in rays :D

Well Bruce, over the past 12 months or more theres been far more Colombian motoros in the trade than ever before and judging by the disc sizes in relation to the claspers its a fair assumption that these rays mature at smaller sizes than their Brasilian and Peruvian counterparts and in many cases never make the huge sizes often quoted for Motoros. That said i would have thought your ray has developed his pattern as far as it will go....."could be wrong" so if im being absolutely honest, ive seen far nicer specimens but on the other hand far worse! the thing is if its your ray and you happy with it then it can be the best ray in the world. All rays are amazing, its the way they move and their character that draws us to them in the first place, for me they are the most majestic of creatures......fancy patterns are a bonus!!!
