i have been kinda standing on the sideline watching this thread, i am new to the MFK communtiy and didnt see it as a point to jump in with greedy hands, but i would like to say congrats! they are beautiful fish. and as far as loosing some to the parents, we live and learn*S* im sure the next time will work out better.
im still haven trouble wrapping my mind around the fact it only took 3 days.*S* anywho congrats!! good fish keepin*S*

im thinking that these will be normals from this batch BUT like you say future batches could bring the gold out

this time has worked out O.K, the fry i left in with the big jags was a "let them do what they want" kinda thing, the fish in the little tank is doing O.K as well apart from they seem 2B getting less and less in there bit no dead fish/fry anywhere?

what are the lil guys eating? if they are dissapearing.**ok im nto trying to insult intelligents here so please dont take it that way** is the tank coverd? they arent jumping are they??
its just weird to not ever see a dead. i mean if i were you id be staring a tthat tank all day*L*
and i am sure that future broods will hold some golds, if a parent is gold you gotta get that gene out some time*S* it maybe a 1- ina 100 thing, but that was a big brood. and with time and practice youll get good enough at keepin them. or the majority of them alive to sell*S* and as beautiful as those parents are they will be attractive fish when they get bigger.
Still a triumph in fish breeding*S* a good keeper making babys from attractive fish, and in breeding is that not the point*L* unles syour breeding for feeders*L*. keep us posted

no the tank is open topped but 4 them to jump they would have to get over the 3inches of tank rim (as i have not filled to the top)
