BOLTY's new tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
First off like I said I couldn't tell if it is as you call it a jewels stand (I have never heard this term before). But I assume you are saying it is a stand that has say a larger flat base that reaches (ie 1 by whatever) and then it tapers in with a smaller base. (But the key thing with those stands is that the edges are still on something.)

But like I said I could not tell if this tank had perhaps what I would call say a standard 75/90 gallon 4ft plan while it was being used for a 5ft plan. That of course is a big no no. Since infact with any glass tank it is designed to held at the edges and not in the middle. (IE that is why all stands made by tank makers have large wholes in the middle.)

I was just voicing a possible concern since I couldn't tell if in fact this stand was covering the whole 5 by 2 feet instead of just 4 by say 1.5 feet (which would have been bad.)

looks good-I've a Rio 400 myself and would suggest you rip that Juwel internal filter out. They're crap and won't support a large bioload-I even upgraded to a 1500 pump and it made no difference. Get a good external power filter and you'll also get more room too. Just my opinion on Juwel mate
