Looks like it has its pro's and con's.

Its better than other cheap waterproofing alternatives like Drylok in that it claims that its a true waterproofer. (permanant underwater use)

But its not just paint on. According to instructions for waterproofing, you'll be mixing it with cement and reapplying a whole new layer to your substrate.

So the question would be, what is the durability of a layer of new cement with this stuff added? Sure it might stay water proof as long as the new layer stays intact. But from what I know of adding extra layers of concrete to an existing substrate, it usually doesn't take too long for it to start breaking down, from thermal expansion, separation or other reasons.

But it looks like it might work great for a new project

Better read all the directions, including the pond part.

It needs a second product plus Portland cement.

It could be a good product, but it's very labor intensive, and you can only do a small area at a time because of pot life.

Sounds more like a product for an experienced finisher and not a one time deal.

Bummer.

What about an acrylic fortifier? I used this stuff instead of water when mixing the grout for my kitchen's tile floor to prevent the grout from staining. Seems to be working really well. Supposedly makes concrete stick better, more flexible after curing, & more resistant to water penetration- which sounds perfect for aquarium purposes. Anyone know if it would be fish-safe? A few of those links mention "non-toxic".

I'm not sure if this is the same exact stuff that I'm using but it sure looks close. I'll double check later today...
