These fish are simply amazing. Magnificent colours and so graceful, and they have been very mellow so far. Something interesting I have observed - their tank was initially a rock scape, and the whole time they looked out of sorts and spent most of their time sitting in a corner. I decided to switch out most of the large rocks for driftwood, and now their behaviour has changed considerably; they seem a lot happier with the wood. I'm in love, I really am, even though they have not even coloured up yet. $250 for them, but worth every penny.

Still not the best pics, because the water is cloudy from the rescape. Male in foreground, female back.

Very glad to have picked ornatum over festae.

Very nice. How big are they? Any other tankmates?

Greta pick up, HerCrenVie!!

Hope you be the first to spawn them!!!!

Thanks everyone. :) There is very little difference in size between the two, the male at about 7" and the female just slightly under. I have a couple of young 2" P. loisellei in with them as dithers. It's still early days, but I have seen promising signs already, head shaking and all that, and even occasionally I see the vertical bars that characterise breeding dress. They swim everywhere together.

It turns out that the female has a Spironucleus infection. Should I quarantine her or treat the entire tank?

Gavin :)
