Bonsai Parrot Can't Stay Upright!? Help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i didn't see it eat the zucchini, but it did get eaten by something. it's pooping too so it's gotta be eating it.

it could just be wishful thinking but it looks a tiny bit more stable now, still a lot of tipping over and wobbling though.

i started feeding pellets again today too, should i have waited longer? i didn't want to starve the other fish.

You can try adding epsum salt at about 1-2 teaspoon per 10 gallon. It works like a laxative and might help if what your parrot is suffering from is constipation. But remember that adding this salt should not be in addition to any regular salt in your aquarium. I would recommend setting him up a seperate tank if you can and adding the salt to that if you can. The treatment should help in a day or so, if its not fixed by then I would not expect it to.
Have you thought about trapped air? considering these guys poor body function and mouth I would think its more than likely he sucked in some air and it may be trapped. this happens with cichlids like frontosa who often gulp air to simulate egg holding. I have seen alot of video's on youtube of people treating there fronts for this condition.

Its common in goldfish, but in there case its usually due to improper feeding.
best luck man and keep us posted on his condition.

thanks! i'll give the epsom salt a try. i really doubt it's air though, because it doesn't have any bulges and it doesn't float. it's usually resting on the bottom upside down, except when i feed it. i'll keep you updated. again thank you!!!
